Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge - WARNING!

I feel as though I should address this. I have seen this new Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge swarming all over social media and just cannot believe that there are so many people partaking in it. If you have noticed, Kylie Jenner’s lips have changed a lot since she was a little girl. I really don’t know how this challenge started, but it’s sad that there are so many people getting hurt!

Yes, it’s true - so many people want to enhance their lips, mostly with lip injections which is a great option if you are having someone who is properly certified to do so. Did you know that you can also enhance your lips permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing? You don't need to use a bottle to enhance your lips! With this lip challenge, you are entrusting a glass or plastic bottle! 

There are so many teens (men and women) that are trying this and while it can cause bruising and a temporary lip “pout” it can even cause some serious damage! In some cases, people are experiencing serious injury due to the bottle exploding and sending shards of glass into and around their mouth.

I highly recommend that you stay away from this “challenge” as it can be much more harmful that you really think it is. Please do some research about what can really happen with internet challenges and consider the following options if you are desiring bigger and more pouty lips:

- Permanent Makeup: Tattooing your lips can stimulate your own collagen and increase blood flow. Did you know that as we age, our natural lip color and lip line can fade? Tattooing your lips even a millimeter outside of your natural lip line/shape can make a BIG difference in your lips and your look. Favorites Fridays: Bioderma Sensibio H20

Let’s face it - sometimes you get home really late from the office, the movies, a hot date or a night out with friends and all you want to do is take off your high heels and climb into bed. While removing those heels is a must, there is something else that you should do without hesitation… wash your face. Everyone has forgotten to do it…. even I have forgotten before! (Shhhh) I get home really late from a concert or conference and all I want to do is climb into bed and turn Netflix on. I started keeping a jar of toner with cotton rounds in it by the bed so that if I just didn’t want to get back on my feet, I could at least remove my makeup. Unfortunately, the toner has alcohol and harsh chemicals and/or oils that just aren't the best for my skin. It also can’t remove my eye makeup and would burn if I even tried. Are you wondering where I am going with all of this? Well, here we go...

This week, I share Bioderma Sensibio H20 (also known as Crealine H20) which is a no-rinse micellar cleanser and makeup remover. It is wonderful for all types of skin and can even remove waterproof mascara, eye makeup and face makeup with out leaving any kind of residue on the skin or eyes. Now do you see where I was going with this? I love this product because it will remove my makeup and eye makeup with ease and my skin feels so clean afterwards! I highly recommend this fabulous beauty product for anyone!

I don’t recommend using this as your daily cleanser and not washing or exfoliating your face, but I do think this is the best eye makeup remover that I have ever seen or used. It is also fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free and hypoallergenic. So, basically, it’s magic and works like a charm! 

Bioderma is a French skincare brand whose products are known for being highly effective but gentle enough to use on even the most sensitive skin. Bioderma understands the importance of maintaining skin health. Let’s face it - washing your face and removing all of your makeup after a night out with the girls, a hot date or a late night at the office is the last thing women want to do. It seems like all we care about is taking off our high heels and climbing in to bed. If you ask your skincare expert, they will tell you there are just a few rules to great skin: 1) don’t pick 2) moisturize 3) exfoliate and 4) DON’T GO TO BED WITH YOUR MAKEUP ON! In fact, not washing your makeup off before bed can actually age your skin and your look quite quickly. Here is another solution and you have no excuses. Keep Bioderma Sensibio H20 by your bed and a few cotton rounds by you and it will easily remove all of your makeup without any effort.

Favorites Fridays: Gleam Body Radiance by Melanie Mills

Well, here is a brand new favorite of mine. Last year, my daughter and I attended The Makeup Show LA and we had a blast! Her favorite purchases were from Jouer Cosmetics (which have been some of my favorites too: face primer, the amazing, award winning and Allure Magazine favorite: Luminizing Moisture Tint as well as the Matte Moisture Tint and Long-Wear Creme Mousse Eyeshadow) and from Gleam. I remember her buying some goodies from Gleam’s booth, and I know she has loved it over the years, but I never really tried it myself. This week, I am excited to share Gleam's Body Radiance with you!

When we got to Gleam’s booth at the Makeup Show LA, my daughter was so excited to tell Melanie and her team how much she LOVED her purchases from the year before! While at the booth, I was able to try the Gleam Body Radiance in DEEP GOLD and loved the look of it on my arms. Because I haven’t enjoyed any time in the sun to get that Greek glowing tan that I normally have in the Spring and Summer, I found that this was right on the money. I loved the way it made my arms look nice and tan without being streaky, blotchy or orange. I love the different shades that Gleam Body Radiance comes in… there is something for everyone. 

Something you might love to know is that this fabulous line was created by the Emmy-Award winning Melanie Mills! She invented Gleam Body Radiance out of the necessity to instantly bronze the fabulous pro-dancers and celebrities’ skin without a spray tan, all while deeply moisturizing and making their skin glow for the cameras on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Gleam is so incredibly light weight, but don’t let that fool you! It’s jam-packed with moisturizing ingredients to leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Normally, I don’t prefer strong scents in lotions because I really love the perfumes that I wear and don’t like mixing fragrant lotions with body perfume. BUT I really do love the subtle scent from Gleam Body Radiance. It reminds me of being out by the pool or being on the beach.



Some facts about Gleam Body Radiance:
1) If you aren’t sure about which shade of Gleam to purchase, the Rose Gold is the most universal.
2) When applied to clean, dry skin, Gleam will lift and enhance your natural squinting.
3) It is highly pigmented, so it will camouflage imperfections like skin discoloration, stretch marks and even varicose veins.
4) It will not rub off onto your clothes and it is transfer-resistant but can be easily removed with a baby wipe.... I KNOW, RIGHT?!
5) Mixing with your body lotion isn’t recommended, use Gleam alone.
6) Gleam will not stain your clothes, but if it does transfer, use soap and water to remove it.
7) Mix a little with your liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer or apply Gleam all by itself to your 
face for a sexy glow!

Last weekend, my daughter and I went to The Makeup Show LA and had a blast.
